The LMU Latino Alumni Association is a legacy of the Mexican American Alumni Association.
Thirty years ago, MAAA was formed by a core group of Mexican American alumni with the goal of providing scholarships to deserving Latino students at LMU. Since 1981, our community has been committed to transforming the lives of Latino students in their pursuit of a quality education, ensuring LMU is accessible and affordable for all. With the support of alumni, friends and corporate sponsors, as well as the university’s 2:1 match, we have awarded more than 1,400 scholarships for more than $3 million. In this tradition the LMU Latino Alumni Association will provide much needed scholarship support, professional networking and mentorship opportunities to future generations of Latino leaders.
As we honor the 30thanniversary of the Mexican American Alumni Association, we give thanks to our founding members and to all who have partnered with us to strengthen our legacy over the years. The LMU Latino Alumni Association looks forward to the next 30 years, as we come together as a community, celebrating various Latino cultures and ethnicities, to fulfill our mission of supporting deserving students at LMU.
