As someone who struggled with her identity in college, like never feeling "Asian enough," being an API Ambassador feels like my second chance in getting involved with my community to help make an impact at LMU. Since I wasn't involved in many clubs, I love being able to connect and bond with other API alums, while staying in the loop of what's going on at the bluff no matter how many years or miles away have gone by. My hope is that as an API Ambassador, I can help reach students who are learning to define their API identity and step into that power. I want our community at LMU to know that we deserve to take up space and our stories deserve to be told.
Colleen Viana ’10 is a multidisciplinary Pinay storyteller and strategist, specializing in equitable social media practices in the entertainment industry. Most recently out of agency world, she worked with clients like Hulu, YouTube, Spotify, and Universal Pictures. Since leaving the bluff, she moved to NYC to get her M.A. while also mastering the art of living in a 200 square foot studio apartment. After 10 years, she's getting ready to move back to the best coast and indulge in homemade Filipino food.
