Why this Organization/Cause is Important to You or the Nominee
This foundation was started after my very close friends lost their son after a long stay in the pediatric intensive care unit. The whole situation was absolutely heartbreaking to watch, but the one positive side was that they were able to be by his side and advocate for him daily. They quickly noticed that they were the fortunate ones in this very difficult situation because they had the flexibility and means to be there for their son while so many children were left alone, while their families had to work, take care of other kids, or lived too far away and couldn't afford to stay near the hospital. I have been on the Board working to fundraise for this important cause.

Find a cause that is meaningful to you. There are so many great causes to support, but I believe to make a real contribution it has to be something that you are passionate about and gives you great satisfaction to be a part of and know that you are making a difference.
