History of the API Alumni Association

Over the course of LMU's history, the Asian Pacific Islander (API) community has thrived, with students playing a pivotal role in establishing dynamic cultural organizations like Nā Kōlea, Isang Bansa, the South Asian Student Association, and more. These organizations have become integral components of the rich LMU student experience.

In 1980, a determined coalition of API community members championed the establishment of the Asian Pacific Student Services office. This visionary step aimed to curate specific programming for LMU API students. Building upon this legacy, the API Alumni Association emerged to extend its support to the LMU API community well beyond graduation.
