I met Juan my freshman year at LMU, he was a sophomore. We met at the Lair and instantly became friends, but I was interested in more than that. I quickly realized that we had a lot in common, we both had older parents and came from very large Mexican families (he is one of 10, and I am one of 9). We also liked the same music and loved to dance. The photo below is of us at the LMU MEChA formal, where we danced the night away with our roommates and friends. We made most of our best memories at LMU and it's also where we met most of our lifelong friends. We dated throughout our time at LMU (and beyond), before finally getting married in 2002. We have now been married for 18 years and have four children. Our eldest was recently accepted to the LMU School of Film, and will likely be starting in the fall. We are very excited to have another Lion in the house!
