I was a senior and President of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, Patty was an innocent frosh at Mt. St. Mary’s attending her first mixer at Loyola in the Lair. It was love at ‘first dance’. I got her phone number and then had to leave the dance. Patty’s sister Maureen had been L.U.’s homecoming queen the year before and her other sister, Kitty whom I knew previously, was also at the Mount. When Patty told Kitty about our meeting she was upset and told Patty I was trouble! Trouble or not I was able to fight off several other suitors and got her to marry me in 1971. Maureen and Kitty were Patty’s maids of honor at our wedding and my best man was my brother Tom who was a 1965 Loyola grad. and a 1968 Loyola Law School grad. Fr. Alfred Kilp S.J. performed the ceremony. We have been happily married for 49 years and have 4 wonderful children and 4 fabulous grandchildren. Thanks to Loyola and the Lair for getting us together!
